Quakertown Volunteer Emergency Medical Services, Inc. is entirely composed of volunteers. We are businessmen and women, farmers, retired persons, students, professionals, and moms and dads. We are your friends and neighbors. Our diverse group has one common thread - our commitment to those in need of emergency aid.
You can help your neighbors by joining us and providing treatment for victims of motor vehicle accidents, sick children, cardiac and respiratory emergencies, strokes, burns, broken limbs, falls, diabetic emergencies and allergic reactions.
QVEMS responds to emergency calls in Alexandria and Union Townships
The mission of QVEMS is to render the finest, most efficient and advanced emergency first aid and service to Alexandria, Union Townships and nearby communities as required without regard to sex, race, color and creed. The Squad will:
- Answer emergency calls and render first aid to the sick, injured and debilitated;
- Transport residents (who medically require transportation by ambulance) to and/or from various institutions for medical treatment and care, as manpower and/or equipment permits;
- Strive to acquire and maintain the finest, most up-to-date equipment available;
- Provide for the continuous teaching of and training in the most advanced and approved first aid practices and life saving emergency techniques;
- Aggressively pursue and foster safety consciousness throughout the community, through the implementations of programs, to encourage safety, reduce injuries, prevent accidents and save lives;
- Promote and spearhead improved coordination between The Squad and other related emergency organizations.
